Introduction to Mindfulness meditation to lift your mood
Mindfulness meditation is based upon Buddhist meditation practice. In this introductory class you will learn breathing meditations to help you become more aware of the present moment, including getting in touch with moment-to-moment changes in your mind and body. Mindfulness meditation has been combined with cognitive-behavioural techniques and has been shown to be an effective treatment to help lift your mood and prevent low mood in the future. This workshop is based upon ideas from the book ‘The Mindful Way through Depression’.
This workshop will give you an introduction to Mindfulness meditation and will last approximately 90 minutes. If you complete this workshop and find it helpful, you might like to join our longer and more advanced 8-week mindfulness course .
